Among the Hidden By Margret Haddix page 1

"He had never disobeyed the order to hide. Even as a toddler, barely able to walk in the backyard's tall grass, he had somehow understood the fear in his mother's voice." (Chapter 1, pg. 1)
Luke is a thrid child in his family, but he lives in a country were there is a controled population, two children per family. If a third child is found they get taken away, and never seen or heard of again. Lukes family lives in a rural area where it would be easier to have a third child, but the woods around their house start getting cut down, and luke is told he can never go outside again.

Wow, this sounds really interesting? How did you find this story? Is it a novel or short story, something else? China practices population control, what do you think about that? I personally feel that when the government begins to tell you how many children you are allowed to have, it's time to move.
