Age 8; and a killer!?

People Magazine page 114 Kerri Smith

An 8 year old boy is going to be tried as an adult for murder. I know right ans 8 year old boy charged as an ADULT!! Here is the lowdown on November 5, this third grader supposedly shot his father and a roommate but they don't know why. The boy doesn't have a record and hasn't had any trouble with the law at all. The only thing a family friend could think of is that he got a bad report card, so his father spanked him, and grounded him from going trick-or-treating. What if someone else shot the men, and threatened the boy that if he told the truth they would kill everyone else around him? But for now he is being charged as an adult. In my opinion, stupid choice.

Jayden Spears

People Magazine page 24
Britney Spears son Jayden had to be rushed to the hospital on November 9, due to a reaction to something he ingested. But he is all better and doing okay. This must happen everyday but its interesting how its only important when it is someone famous who is hurt/injured.

Among the Hidden By Margret Haddix page 1

"He had never disobeyed the order to hide. Even as a toddler, barely able to walk in the backyard's tall grass, he had somehow understood the fear in his mother's voice." (Chapter 1, pg. 1)
Luke is a thrid child in his family, but he lives in a country were there is a controled population, two children per family. If a third child is found they get taken away, and never seen or heard of again. Lukes family lives in a rural area where it would be easier to have a third child, but the woods around their house start getting cut down, and luke is told he can never go outside again.

Today I read the book Miss Nelson is Missing to my neighbors the book it about Miss Nelson's class is very bad and won't listen or do anything Miss Nelson would like them to do. She goes under cover as a mean teacher who all the kids think is very scary. After a while Miss Nelson comes back as her old self and the class is wonderful. This is a great book to read by your self or to younger kids. It teaches kids to not take nice people for granted and to respect your elders.

1.Catcher In The Rye

By J. D. Salinger

This is the 5th time I have read the book “Catcher In the Rye”. This book is about a young man named Holden Caulfield who is talking about the days he spends in New York following his expulsion from Pencey Prep, it seems like he is telling his story while being evaluated at a mental facility. Holden's brother Allies’s death seemed to affect his life and the way he thinks, he died of leukemia three years before. In the book Holden keeps bringing up the rye where he wants to stand and catch children from falling in, and carries around his brother’s old baseball glove that Allie used to write poems in with green ink. I agree with all of the thesis’s about this book, it is a challenging book to understand but once you read it through and go back to look at what Salinger is really trying to write about. It holds a lot of meaning. I love this book.

Adjective

I am musical. Listening to music is something I do all day long; in the car, while I sleep and when I am doing my homework. I can listen to any kind of music, I also love musicals. When I was younger my mom would always bring me to musicals at the Ordway theatre or the Guthrie theatre. My favorites are rent, mamma mia, hairspray, the producers, sweeny todd and the lion king. Out of all the adjectives in the English language I chose to describe myself as musical, because as you can see, I am musical
